In the Heiwa area of Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City, “Chinese Restaurant” quietly stands in a corner of a residential area. A video closely covering the couple who stand in the kitchen for 10 hours and then spend another 2 hours polishing the shop has surpassed 3 million views, attracting attention from all over the country.

The cooking skills that uncompromisingly complete staple dishes such as fried rice, gyoza, and mapo tofu, and the warm hospitality that welcomes customers, attract fans not only from local customers but also from afar. Just standing at the entrance makes you feel “this is the real deal,” a famous restaurant with the air of the Showa era.

Shiro’s Tip

The Heiwa area is far from the subway, so the nearest stop is Nishitetsu Bus “Heiwa Gochome” (about 1 minute on foot). Both videos are close-up documentaries of the same store, with a total of over 4 million views. For your first visit, the set of hearty fried rice and gyoza is recommended.
