①Rarukii | Ohori Park (The Birthplace of Pepetama Pasta)

A legendary establishment in Fukuoka known nationwide as the creator of “pepeta pasta.” The Japanese-style pasta, a combination of peperoncino (pepe) and egg (tama), originated here.

Located in a house-like building near Ohori Park, its rare lunch service, open only a few days a week, is a popular draw. The technique of extracting complex flavors from simple ingredients is a testament to the enduring fans who have been coming for years.

  • The signature menu item is, of course, “pepeta pasta.” The aroma of garlic and chili rises from the oil, blending with the creamy egg yolk, melting smoothly in your mouth.
  • 3-1-1 Arato, Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City | Hours: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM (L.O. 2:30 PM) / 6:00 PM – 9:30 PM (L.O. 9:00 PM) | Closed: Wednesday | TEL: 092-724-8185
  • No reservations. It’s best to line up before opening on the day.

️ Shiro’s Tip

Pepetama is a dish that is “carefully prepared one serving at a time upon order.” On weekends, there can be a line forming before opening. Since Wednesday is a closed day, Thursday to Monday is the best time to visit. Its location is also perfect for a stop after strolling around Ohori Park.
